MY CARD MAKING ALPHABET - K

is for KINDNESS

Wikipedia defines kindness as: “a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and a concern for others".

How does that relate to cardmaking? Don't you like to receive  something other thank bills in the mail? Doesn't it make you smile when you not only receive a beautiful card from someone but that they have taken the time to make that card just for you. It's wonderful if this is a friend or family member but imagine getting a beautiful card from someone you don't even know.

They are several Facebook Groups that manage swaps, you make a card or cards and send them to someone else who does the same for you, if you search card swaps you will find them, but there is also a wonderful group Random Act of Kindness Card Group that you can join, I suggest you have a look at it and how and why it works.

Doing something kind for someone else, isn't just doing it for them it gives a lot back to you.

HASHTAG SIMPLE STAMPING

I find stamping and card making very therapeutic, I may not be very good at it but I enjoy it.

Anyone who stamps knows its not a cheap hobby, when I first started going to classes we were sold every single item that we may or may not need.

Stampin' Up! has come up with a great way for people to start which out the huge outlay. Simple Stamping only needs paper, a stamp and ink. Mind you once you get the bug you will have to have the rest.

I have to admit I find simple stamping difficult because it is so different to to way I was taught, obviously these days less is more.

One of my favourite colours this year is Pretty Peacock so here is my #simplestamping for this month.

Simple stamping is something I really must get my head around because you can make some simply lovely cards.

Stamping Around the World Tutorial Bundle - each month 12 demonstrators from various parts of the world, design a card. These designs are then put into a bundle and are available to purchase.

Here in Australia the cost is A$20, however the bundle is free with a purchase from my store of A$78.

MY CARD MAKING ALPHABET - J

is for JEWELS

Not only to add bling, jewels and rhinestones are a great way to add that extra something it a card or scrapbook page. They come in various sizes and colours.

Don't forget though when using jewels, rhinestones or any gems to use the Rule of Odds.

The Rule of Odds states that people are more attracted to uneven numbers in a composition, apparently we are naturally drawn to unusual or uneven composition. When we use an odd number of elements  it creates visual interest.

KYLIE DEMONSTRATOR TRAINING PROGRAM MONTHLY TEAM BLOG HOP OCTOBER, 2019

Welcome to my part of Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Monthly Team Blog Hop (that's a mouthful)  for October, 2019 , this is the first blog hop together for the new training year. I did do the program last year, loved it, learnt so much, met some amazing people, so am back for more.

If you're starting on my blog, please check out the links below for some of the amazing projects by my other team mates. If you're coming to me from one of their blogs, HELLO I hope you like my card.

I'm using the Floral Essence stamp set, this has to be one of the most versatile set I have at the moment, it took me a little while to use it but now it has become a favourite.

I used Petal Pink cardstock, I thought it was a tad plain so after stamping the sentiment, I ran it though with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, it is true to it's name, it is subtle but what a difference it made.

I then teamed it with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper, which is just beautiful.

Now it's time to grab a coffee or whatever your preferred beverage and sit back and enjoy the beautiful projects coming to you today.

KRE8TORS BLOG HOP -AUTUMN

Thank you for stopping by. This is my first Blog Hop with the Kre8tors team, so I'm very excited.

The theme this month is Fall/Autumn, in my part of the world we are currently in Spring, here in Australia we don't celebrate Autumn the way Northern America celebrate Fall, so I don't have any stamps that fit the criteria.

So I hope this ok. The coloured leaves are from the Daisy Lane Stamp set and the sentiment from Painted Harvest.

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY

World Cardmaking Day began back in 2006 by Paper Craft magazine to encourage people to make cards, What else?

WCD is held on the first Saturday in October, which for us was last Saturday 5th October.

I was involved in a couple of swaps for the day, as most were here in Australia I used the Crafting Forever stamp set, which has always been a favourite (aren't they all?)

As one was for the US I couldn't go past Skippy in the Animal Outing set.

Can't wait to get mine in the mail, I'll post them as soon as I get them.

Products listed below look like a lot but there are two cards so some of the products may be duplicated.

Belated Happy World Cardmaking Day.
