NATURES WONDERLAND

During our current lockdown I thought it was a good opportunity to have a bit of a clear out, I think I have already mentioned this before, I was shocked at how wasteful I had been with cardstock and paper, so I went through my strap box and sorted it all out and now I'm on a mission to use up these papers.

The wood grain paper below is one of those, its retired but obviously there is something current that could replace it in this design, for example the Pressed Petal Specialty DSP.

Another simple card, Whisper White card base, layer of Early Espresso and the image from Winter Woods stamp set on Whisper White.

A LITTLE SPONGING

I'm casing again, this time from Dawn Griffiths from the USA, she refers to this as the Reverse Masking Sponging Technique.

Basically on a piece of cardstock, you sponge a shape, in this case I used the Stitched Nested Label Dies, the stamped image needs to fit within the shape, then a smaller die is used to cut out the centre. The original piece is then attached to the card base using dimensionals and the centre piece is added using adhesive. Sounds complicated? not really but you can watch her video on YouTube.

SCENIC SEPIA

One of my favourite Stampin" Up! Demonstrators is Liz Yuille from the UK and I have her to thank for this card, I loved it so had to case it.

The card base is one of my favourite colours, Crumb Cake, it is such a versatile colour. The first layer is Early Espresso with the actual scene stamped on Whisper White. For the layers I went back to the ¼ inch increments.

High Tide is a two step stamp set, using colours Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand. 

The combination gives a fantastic sepia effect, thank you so much Liz.

THINKING OF YOU

Normally I'm not big on bright colours, so I'm a bit out of my comfort zone with this card. for the card base I actually used Mango Melody, the frame is one of my new favourites the Ornate Layer Dies, I die cut the Magnolias from the Magnolia Lane DSP then coloured them using Mango Melody Blends, I surprised myself, I really like this card.
