Masking gives depth to a card, you can use the simplest stamp or the most ornate.

With this card I used the Floral Essence Stamp Set, with colours I wouldn't have thought would work together, but I love it. Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green, who would have thought ? .
